There are three different ways to mod your XBOX 360
1. XKEY USB loader - $120 installed for fat original 360s and slims (units manf after Sept 2011 READ HERE) - 15 minutes.
In our opinion this is the best mod. It allows you to play ISOs from a USB hard drive instead of using the disc. The advantages are:
- There is no wear and tear on the DVD drive, as you are bypassing it. DVD drive replacements cost $60
- Your whole collection in one spot, No changing discs, no nothing (think of an iPod for your 360)
- If there are patches released in the future ie XDG4, you can just patch the ISO file on the hard drive instead of having to burn the disc again.
- No DVD drive modification keeps your DVD drive in original condition.
- You can update the device yourself, no need to come back and pay $10 to update the device
- Continuous support online through x360key forum
- You can disable the mod and use the 360 completely 100% stock which is safe online.
NOTE: Some USB 3 harddrives seem to have a weird issue when people are using the xk3y without the screen. The drive when plugged into the xk3y dongle will not spin up at all, making it hard to update/enable iso menu etc. The fix is very easy. Plug your HDD in all the way, then just put your harddrive us lead out of the xk3y USb dongle a couple of millimeters. This should make all of the data lines match up and it then should work fine.
Need more internal hard drive space in your Slim/Phat 360? - $10 - 250/320gb HDD flash - 5 minutes (read below for HDD support)

2. DVD Drive Flash - As of November 7th 2012 Copyright Bill C-11 got passed. We will no longer be providing flashing of custom firmware services as it may be viewed as circumventing of digital locks. Your only alternative is to use an xkey as it is only storing the original firmware and emulating the dvd drive for you to play your digital backups.
$30 for fat original 360s and $60 for slims (units mant after Sept 2011 READ HERE) - 15 minutes
All fat original consoles are moddable. Since Slims are still being made not all Slim models can be modded as MS continues to change the dvd drives in the newer units. Units manufactured after Septemeber 2011 have LiteOn 1175 drives which can not be modded yet. If you have a LiteOn 1175/Hitachi drive your only option right now is using the XKEY (read here for more information) There is no way to tell from outside the box which dvd drive you have other than looking at the manufacturing date at the back which can give you a general idea. There are some rare units with Hitachi drives which also can not be modded yet. Once the drive has been flashed there may be updates to the firmware that are required based on security updates done by MS. Firmware upgrades are $10. If you would like to bring the unit back to factory firmware and remove the mod just bring your unit in free of charge!
Below is a table that shows a list of dvd drives, the latest firmware versions and the release dates.

December 25th 2011 UPDATE
LT+ 3.0 has been released for the drives listed above. Samsung and old Hitachi drives will not need LT 3.0. Hitachi 78/79 will need LT 3.0 which has not been released yet. This new firmware will eliminate the need for AP 2.5 security checks and should counter future dae.bin updates from MS.
This firmware supports truncated backups, although it is strongly recommended to use full burns made with a compatible Lite-On iHAS drive flashed with the iXtreme Burner MAX fw. NOTE: Existing titles that currently have AP2.5 checks (Black Ops, Assasin Creed) will need to be reburned with the correct topogoly data. Backups should be tested using new AGBX 1.0.6. or higher
Supported Lite-On PC Burners. We no longer stock the burners as they are difficult to find. If you are able to source a burner you can bring it in and we will flash it for free.

3. JTAG/RGH (reset glitch hack) - Coming soon! Visit our JTAG/RGH section of site for updates.
Some would argue that this is best solution for offline play. It allows full access to the consoles hardware and software. Both hacks have identical results for the end user. JTAG hacks have instant boot times, like a normal console. RGH boot times vary from 5 to 30 seconds. We try our best to optimize these times and can usually get every original fat consoles to boot under 10 seconds, and every slim under 20 seconds. There are some consoles that are fussy, and long boot times cannot be avoided.
JTAG - You can ONLY do the JTAG hack if you have a fat original model console that was made on or BEFORE June 15, 2009. AND if the dashboard version is 2.0.7371 (you can check in the settings) or less. This means you haven't updated the console through a game or through xbox live since late 2009. Unfortunately these units are no longer around so have not done these in a while and stopped offering this service.
Reset Glitch Hack (RGH) - is compatible with both original fat and slim 360s. It is not compatible with old XENONs (see this picture for the best indication of your motherboard type) which are the oldest 360s. The dashboard version currently does not matter, but might in the future. THIS HACK IS NOT FOR MAINSTREAM CUSTOMERS, enthusiasts only.
Advantages:
- Running any homebrew program someone creates. i.e. Custom dashboards, emulators, media players etc NO XBMC SUPPORT!
- Region Free gaming. Play any region 360 discs and games from hard.
- Running games from external hard drive.
- Ripping games from your 360 dvd drive to internal or external hard drive.
- Any protection from MS is disabled from a software level, which means these consoles are pretty much untouchable.
Disadvantages:
- No xbox live, at all.
- With the RGH, console boot times can vary from 5 to 30 seconds. We try out hardest to optimise these times, however we have a time limit of how many hours we will spend on the console to try and get it to boot fast. Some consoles are just fussy and won't consistantly boot quickly.
- This hack is NOT for noobs. The custom dashboard that runs unsigned code is specific to YOUR console. This means you CANNOT do normal upgrades via disc/internet anymore. A normal update will screw the console up. So when you want to update (and you WILL need to update at least twice a year for compatibility with new games) you will need to compile a dashboard using CPU key and your NAND (you can extract these 2 files from your console) and then flash it onto your console. If you mess up this process the NAND will be corrupt and we will need to manually solder into your console again to reflash it. Updating is not a super hard process if you like reading a lot but the bottom line is do not just look at a youtube video and start updating. If you are not comfortable just bring it in and we can update for $10. For customers that are not local we can provide steps for you to extract your nand and email it to us. We can update the new nand and send it back to you with steps on how to update the console.
