Why does GMODZ only offer softmods for Wii? We have stocked several chips over the years with the most recent being the WODE. The WODE had several features but it came at a very high price. The softmods have cought up and in some cases passed the hardware solutions available with half the costs. We will no longer be offering hardware solutions. The softmods have a lot more support as it is open source and you do not have to wait for specific firmware updates from modchip manufacturers.

After several tests and custom installs we have come to a full softmod solution available for all Wii's. The softmod allows you to play backups and load off of USB hard drive just like hard mod chips. The fear with softmods has always been people bricking thier Wii's with updates resulting in Wii's booting to a blank screen with no recovery. We install certain patches so users can not accidently take updates and render thier Wii's inoperable.
